Apparently, I've been living under a rock because I never knew about Root Candles. This week, I saw that they were doing a BzzCampaign over at BzzAgent (one of my VERY favorite sampling websites!) and was curious. I visited their website and fell head over heels for their candles! They have YUMMY scents like sour Anjou pear softened with vanilla flower and sugar cane (reminds me of the pear butter preserves I made last year)! They also sell 100% beeswax, travel candles (I love travel candles), diffusers, gorgeous dinner candles, etc. They even sell liturgical candles for church! And on top of all of their selections, everything there is truly gorgeous. So I'm applying for a spot in the BzzCampaign and hoping to earn a spot to try them out. Rethinking my Swagbucks Stategy!

So, you know that Swagbucks is my favorite way to earn free Amazon cards with very little effort, and that you can even earn a free iPod touch, Wii, LCD LED HDTV, and other items, just by using Swagbucks as your internet search engine instead of Google or Bing.

Today, while, waiting for an oil change, I took the time to actually crunch the numbers for Swagbucks and their rewards to find out what was the best value. I had previously been saving up for a large prize - either a perfume I liked or a flat panel LED HDTV. The TVs were 45,000 swagbucks and 58,000 swagbucks, but I figured, "slow and steady wins the race," right?

Wrong. I found it's better to just keep cashing in for $5 Amazon gift cards every three weeks or so.

Take, for example, the LG HDTV on sale in the Swagstore for 57,999 Swagbucks. Amazon has that exact same TV on sale for $510. If you divide 58,000 by 450 (the amount of SB required for a $5 Amazon gift card) and then multiply it by 5 (the dollar amount each Amazon gift card is worth), you'll see that SB "charges" you $644 for the same television. Now, of course, Amazon's regular price for the TV is in the $700 range, so the SB deal is better than regular-priced Amazon. However, Amazon tends to have sales often, and if you're wise about when you buy the television, you're better off buying it directly from Amazon. Lucky for you, SB offers $5 Amazon gift cards that cost only 450 SB and you can accrue them and stack them on top of one another to purchase the entire TV on Amazon for the gift cards from SB that only took 45,900 SB instead of 58,000 SB. I checked out several of the higher-ticket items at the Swagstore and found this to be true for every item I checked.

So. I'm saving up no more, but cashing in for $5 Amazon gift cards as quickly as I accrue 450 SB in my account. Depending how much you participate at Swagbucks, you could be cashing in even every week or sooner for a gift card.

You already know Swagbucks is my favorite way to earn Amazon gift cards because it's so darn easy - you just use their search engine to do the normal internet searches you would normally do with Google, Bing or another search engine. That's it -- you just search like you normally would and you win Swagbucks when you search. Those Swagbucks add up and you cash them in for prizes. And Fridays, they give outs LOTS of mega Swagbucks so don't forget to take advantage of it by searching often on Fridays! My favorite prize has been the $5 Amazon gift card because I find I can earn them every 3 weeks or so, but many folks I know save them up for big prizes like a Wii fit or an iPod touch. A few of my friends earned iPhones with it. And then there are categories inbetween - $50 gift cards, dinnerware, LED LCD HDTV, perfume, etc. The more Swagbucks opportunities you take advantage of, the quicker you'll earn those prizes. While I admit that I was skeptical at first mostly because of privacy concerns and my personal/contact information being sold to all kinds of lists that would barrage me, I was completely wrong. Search using SB: Easy schmeasy. This is nothing more than just changing from Bing or Google to SB. Download the toolbar because it will help you search faster and easier.

Get codes: Codes are always being released every daily. Sometimes it's in your toolbar, sometimes on their blog, sometimes on Facebook or Twitter (for those of you that follow), or other places.

Recycle: Turn in your old cell phone, game, or books for recycling: That's right. SB gives you SB just for recycling an old phone, game, or book you won't use anymore.

Swagbucks TV: Simply watch their TV online and you'll get SB.

Swagbucks Offers: There are all sorts of offers you can complete daily -- sometimes watching videos, sometimes checking out someone's facebook page, sometimes signing up for something

Swagbucks surveys: there are many surveys daily you can take to earn SB.

Games: You can play games through SB and be rewarded with SB for it.

Print coupons: Simply print coupons from their website and redeem them, and you get 10 SB for every coupon you redeem!
