Free Eyeglasses January 12 at 9AM PT -- but you have to be quick!

Often, I don't try for these things because I figure there are so many people doing these that I don't have a chance.  But my 12 year old pair of eyeglasses broke last year and there were one of these deals going around, so I tried it.  Guess what?  I was one of those who actually got a free pair of eyeglasses.  If I recall, I paid something like $12 or $14 in shipping, but considering I was getting a brand spanking new pair of Gucci eyeglasses, I really couldn't complain.  And indeed, the eyeglasses came in the mail, were the correct prescription, fit properly, and that was that.  No more advertising emails from the company, nothing else -- just a free pair of eyeglasses.

So.  For those of you who may also have a 12 year old pair of glasses that is about to break also, take note:

Coastal Contacts will be having another one of these giveaways on January 12 at 11AM CT.  That's 9AM for us here on the west coast.  For more details and the code to use to get your free glasses, you can read about it here

First, you have to like them on their Facebook page to get the code (or borrow a friend's FB account or have them look up the code for you).
Then, go to their website at http://www.coastalcontacts.com/glasses on Jan 12 at 9AM PT.  Place your order, enter your code at checkout, and get your free glasses.

This is only available to the first 5000 to order, so you have to be quick.  You'll know whether you're one of the first 5000 or not because the code will be invalid after 5000 people.  If your code looks valid (the discount is applied), you're golden, so complete the purchase.  You'll probably want to read up on the specifics so visit the Facebook page listed above -- the code is good for free frames and 1.5 index glasses, you must pay shipping (starting at $10 for 5-day delivery), one per household, you can't have already used one of their free glasses promotions before, etc.

Since I have my new frames, I won't be taking advantage of this promotion, but for those of you who will, here's the tip I learned: start browsing NOW to choose the frames you want.  Get your prescription and measurements from your ophthalmologist or optometrist NOW.  Have everything ready to go by the date and time of the promotion so that when it begins, you can simply enter in the information and snag them before others get to it first.

Good luck!
